What better way to open Filmhouse Sunderland than with this glittering reissue of Federico Fellini’s acclaimed masterpiece. Presented in a beautiful 4K restoration, La Dolce Vita is the satirical story of Marcello (Marcello Mastroianni), a gossip journalist living and working in Rome in 1960.

The film follows Marcello over seven days in the city, as he seeks love and happiness from the back of his Vespa.  A true milestone of cinema, La Dolce Vita captures a Rome balancing tradition with hip, sexy modernity and features one of the most enduring cinema moments of all time – Marcello wading into the Trevi fountain after Hollywood starlet Anita Ekberg. Don’t miss it!
